Electron Microscopy Sciences EMS EMS Poly III Evaporation-Controlled Automated Embedding and Polymerization
The EMS Poly III reduces lengthy and sometimes tedious manual embedding procedures for electron microscopy to a few simple steps for up to 52 vials. It uses a proper combination of pressure and temperature. The specimen chamber is temperature controlled from room temperature to 70 degree C. The pressure in the chamber can be reduced from ambient pressure with an inbuilt vacuum-pump that controls pressure to within narrow limits and warrants solvents will evaporate without the risk of explosive boiling. The exhaust of the vacuum pump can vent into a fume hood.
The instrument modifiable preset programs are optimized for an efficient removal of solvent from specimens eliminating the risk of boiling. Bulk removal of solvent is followed by the thorough removal of trace amounts.
Load at the end of a workday and (when using acetone or propylene oxide) the next morning are ready for polymerization after being topped off with pure resin.
Electron Microscopy Sciences Reusable Silicone Rubber Mold Round, 1" diameter
These reusable molds for cold embedding are made from sturdy, flexible, white silicone, and are easily removed without the need for release agents. Much smoother than rubber molds, enabling easy identification of samples in clear resins. They hold their shape to produce consistent, reliable round embedding.

Electron Microscopy Sciences Thompson Monolayer Embedding Mold
This mold used for embedding mammalian cells in monolayer culture in preparation of sectioning for light or electron microscopy. Tissue culture monolayer embedding molds eliminate the need for traditional BEEM capsules. The improved molds can be used to transfer the majority of cells from the entire surface of a cover slip to avoid losses of large amounts of cellular information occurring only randomly.
